New job again

In case somebody noticed that I’ve been pretty quiet recently — many things happened which kept me occupied. In particular, I started a new job yesterday and will now be developing Songbird. I have been following Songbird’s development since the very beginning and even managed to develop one of the first third-party add-ons for it. It is a very interesting project and a great development team so I am really excited about this.

Congrats! I haven’t personally used it, but I hear great things about it. I’m just an old dog and you know what they say about new tricks, right? ;)

Good news. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for letting us all know what’s been going on. Songbird will only get better now.

If I don’t disclose that people will just continue questioning who I get my money from :)

Glückwunsch, congrats! Pretty cool that Mozilla hackers have several gigs to choose from these days… I hope TomTom has the people to fill your footsteps!

Herzlichen Glückwunsch! I’ll be sure to give Songbird a try. I really like that it’s add-on based. Nothing worse than inflexible bloatware like iTunes.

Yeah, nothing like a bloated music manager with a built-in web browser and no video or podcast support to fix that evil iTunes. Of course iTunes actually works, and works well, but don’t let that stop your half-baked ideological rant.

Karl, unfortunately Songbird is more bloat than iTunes is. I dont like none of them, hopefully songbird gets better, but i doubt. I love the idea, design, add-ons, that it is based on firefox. Realization on the other hand is terrible… it is resource hog – bloat slow software.

Wow….Now i have a list of feature we want for SB. Great news.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Ex-TomTom Club!
I’m sure you will be as popular with the Songbird team as you were with our team at TomTom.
Remember to concentrate on providing important features like “less bloat” and “faster startup” and “more stability”, which directly effect the user experience, and don’t worry so much about the formatting of the comments.

Will there be any future ABP development?

    Wladimir Palant

    Yes, why not?
